Candy Holland’s Basil Pesto Recipe

Alison’s mom’s recipe! My mom has made this recipe for as long as I can remember. Truly, no other pesto recipe will compare. It is best made with fresh garlic and then frozen for eating all year!

Ingredients

6-8 cloves garlic
2/3 cup walnuts
1/2 lb Parmesan

1 tsp salt
fill the cuisinart with pesto leaves
1 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Fill your cuisinart in this order: whole garlic cloves, walnuts, half your pesto leaves, parmesan, salt, the rest of the pesto leaves.
  2. Turn on the cuisinart and start slowly adding the olive oil into the top. If It isn’t all mixing yet, stop and stir and start again. Sometimes the pulse is a great option here.
  3. Taste when smooth and add more of something if you desire. This will be very garlicky and very cheesy and perfect for freezing!
