Homemade Apple Sauce
Ingredients
-
4 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
-
¾ cup water
-
¼ cup white sugar (adjust to taste)
-
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
-
Place the chopped apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon into a medium saucepan.
-
Cover the pan and heat over medium flame. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very soft — about 15 to 20 minutes.
-
Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
-
Using a fork, potato masher, or blender, mash the apples to your preferred texture — smooth or chunky.
-
Serve warm or chilled! Great on its own or as a topping for pancakes, yogurt, or pork chops.
