Homemade Apple Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped

  • ¾ cup water

  • ¼ cup white sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place the chopped apples, water, sugar, and cinnamon into a medium saucepan.

  2. Cover the pan and heat over medium flame. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are very soft — about 15 to 20 minutes.

  3. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

  4. Using a fork, potato masher, or blender, mash the apples to your preferred texture — smooth or chunky.

  5. Serve warm or chilled! Great on its own or as a topping for pancakes, yogurt, or pork chops.
