A sweet friend shared a New York Times article with me this week titled “Better Half,” marking July 2nd as the exact halfway point of 2025—182 days on either side.
What a perfect time to pause and reflect. How did the first half of your 2025 feel? Maybe it’s a good moment to check in on any New Year’s resolutions you set.
One of my goals for 2025 was to simplify my life, to get rid of unnecessary stuff and stress. Clearing space in this way has made it easier to give more energy to the things I truly love. Which brings me to what I’m focusing on in the second half of the year: balancing rest and play.
With a solid foundation of simple routines, I’ve found I have more energy to care for my body and mind and more heart to pour into what I love most: spending time with my people, playing in rivers, and being creative.
As much as the modern food system makes it hard to believe, eating seasonally and locally is actually a powerful way to simplify life. Letting your environment choose for you takes a huge mental load off. Instead of walking into a grocery store and choosing from hundreds of options, nature narrows it down. And believe me, she knows better than any of us what our bodies and our planet need.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed by, well, life sit back and let nature take the reins. I promise, she won’t lead you astray.
Great work team! We got most of our milk jars back this week! Thank you!
