Guided Stargazing in the Garden

Join us in the Market Garden for a special night of moon and star gazing.

This evening will be led by local naturalist and educator Jennie Sharp, founder and director of Starshine. You’ll take in the brilliance of Central Oregon’s night sky while gazing at our closest celestial neighbor, our Moon, as she rises above us. You’ll hear an ancient story with the Moon as a main character, and learn why our Moon is so critical to life on our planet.

• Skymaps for guests to take home
• Red lights and binoculars to borrow

What to bring:
• A blanket or low chair for lounging on the lawn
• Weather-appropriate layers for a cool desert night

Optional, but encouraged

• If you have your own binoculars you are welcome to bring them
• Headlamp with red light setting – this can help you to navigate the garden and view your star map

• a sky viewing app on your phone, recommended is SkyView Lite–its free!

7:15 PM – Check-in + find your spot on the lawn
