Continuing on with our cabbage parade…

Cabbage Roll Filling

  • 1½ lb ground pork
  • ¾ cup cooked rice
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix gently until just combined.

Place approximately ¼ cup of filling near the base of each softened cabbage leaf. Fold the sides inward and roll snugly from the base toward the tip.

Arrange the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish with tomato sauce, cover tightly with foil, and bake at 350°F for 60–75 minutes, until the cabbage is tender and the pork filling reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
