2026 Crops are already going in the ground!

The team planted almost 2 miles of garlic this week.  Five delicious varieties (which you can find in our Farm Store all winter long).  Next year’s wheat has also emerged.  Three heirloom varieties, a Durum, a White, and a Spelt.  Here we are in October and next year’s crops are already going in the ground.  I find this to be so hopeful!

As the seasons shift and the years go round and round, I take great solace in the farm activities that punctuate the year.  Garlic and wheat are both the last plantings of this year and the first of next year’s.  Milestones both ways.

Twice a year we need you to sign up for our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.  We need you to jump on the Winter train that is pulling out of the station AND we need you to book your seat on the Summer train for 2026.

I’ve enjoyed doing the educational monthly emails.  Sales aren’t really my thing, but thats just the way May and October are on a farm that grows and delivers food to Central Oregon year-round.  I am always looking for writing prompts for the other months and would love to spend time writing what you’d like to know about.
